I have been a licensed psychotherapist for over 30 years. I began my work in community mental health in Philadelphia, where I spent more than a decade gaining direct, front-line clinical experience with a wide range of diagnoses, relational crises, and human conditions.
During this time, the foundations of my clinical approach took shape. I trained in Gestalt Therapy at the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia (1999–2002), with its emphasis on relational contact, attachment, and disruptions in connection. I also engaged in intensive mindfulness-based training and practice, grounding my work in self-examination, present-moment awareness, and mindful presence. Alongside this, I trained in and practiced Family Systems Theory, understanding that individuals can only be fully known within the relational and interpersonal systems they inhabit, and that human experience — including trauma — is always interpersonal. During my years in Philadelphia, I continued training in humanistic psychology, Jungian therapy, and body-oriented, somatic psychology.
I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2003 and continued my clinical practice while completing a doctorate at the University of New Mexico in Organizational Learning and Instructional Design in 2010. My doctoral work focused on Transformational Learning Theory, the design of effective learning systems, and teaching learning theory at the university, alongside consulting with a range of business and organizational learning environments.
During this period, I continued to be drawn to Attachment Theory, and in my clinical practice I began encountering an increasing number of relationship crises involving intimacy disruption, hidden compulsive sexual behavior, and betrayal. In response, I completed the Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals in 2016 and later co-founded the Center for Relationship and Sexual Recovery in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Over the past ten years, I have specialized in sexual addiction and intimacy disruption, helping individuals and couples navigate crisis, recovery, and relational repair, while building a secure relational foundation that supports authentic and fulfilling intimacy. My training has continued to expand to include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting Therapy, and ongoing Jungian inquiry.
A primary focus of my work is the applied integration of evidence-informed psychological theory with lived clinical experience. I collaborate with individuals and couples in an inclusive, co-designed recovery process that moves from attachment disruption and trauma toward healthy, secure attachment and vibrant relational intimacy.
I currently work in private practice through Liminal Intimacy LLC and continue to research, write, and facilitate intensives focused on individual and couple recovery, secure attachment, and the path toward authentic relational intimacy.
